Author Bertha Boykin Todd shares how a group of citizens in Wilmington, North Carolina came together to create the centennial commemoration of the 1898 Massacre, eventually forming the 1898 Centennial Commission (now the 1898 Memorial Foundation). Todd recounts how it all came to be, including the creation of 1898 Memorial Park in 2008.
